Welcome to Morocco! Upon your arrival in Casablanca, our guide will be there to greet you and start your tour. After leaving the city, we'll embark on a journey of about five hours to reach the beautiful Chefchaouen.
If you arrive early, we can include a visit to the famous Hassan II Mosque. Heading north along the Atlantic coast, we'll reach the imperial city and capital, Rabat, where we can take a lunch break if you wish.
Continuing our journey, we'll traverse wooded landscapes and lakes, indicating that we are approaching the blue city of Chefchaouen. You'll spend the night in a typical hotel and have time to explore this charming town.
Today, you'll have the morning free to explore this magical medina and its unique urban architecture. After lunch, we'll set out to visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis, an ancient Roman city with many well-preserved artifacts.
Crossing fertile farmlands and picturesque villages, we'll reach the ancient city of Fes and its medieval medina. You'll spend the night in a riad with dinner and breakfast included.
This morning, after breakfast in your riad, you'll start a guided tour of the city with a local guide providing detailed information about the sites and attractions of Fes. You'll explore the Medina (old town) on foot and discover treasures such as the Bouanania and Attarine Medersas, built in the 14th century by the Merinids, the Mosque and University of Al Quaraouiyine (former Islamic learning center), and the beautiful Nejjarine Marble Fountain. You'll have lunch in a typical Moroccan restaurant.
Continuing the tour, you'll see the richly decorated Bab Boujeloud gate, the ancient tanneries, the Royal Palace, and stroll through the souks (local markets) where artisans sell handmade jewelry, leather goods, copperware, and pottery. After the tour, you'll be taken back to your riad.
Leaving Fes, we'll head towards the vast cedar forests with their alpine villages of Ifrane and Azrou. In the forest, you'll likely have the opportunity to see the macaque monkeys that inhabit it. Midelt, known as the 'apple capital,' is renowned for its many apple varieties. We'll have lunch there before continuing our journey through diverse landscapes, including large rivers, mountains, and palm groves.
The Ziz Valley is a breathtaking sight. Our next stop will be the fossil and mineral workshops of Erfoud. This region has produced many amazing fossils, including dinosaur bones.
You'll start to notice changes in the color of the landscape, and soon you'll catch a glimpse of the dunes in the distance. Upon arrival in Merzouga, you'll be welcomed to your tent with a cup of mint tea. Enjoy free time to relax, stroll around the area, and appreciate the silence of the desert.
After breakfast, we'll embark on a desert adventure to explore oases, local mines, encounter nomads, and visit the town of Khamlia to listen to a very special Gnawa music. In the afternoon, you'll meet your camel team and prepare for a journey across the dunes.
You'll spend the night in a nomadic camp with a traditional dinner and music around the campfire. This experience will be unforgettable, and if conditions allow, you might witness an incredible starry sky
An early wake-up ensures you won't miss the magical sunrise in the desert. After leaving the desert behind, our first stop will be the bustling town of Rissani, where you can explore its colorful souks.
The ruins of the nearby city of Sijilmassa testify to its historical significance in the region. We'll continue our journey westward, passing through Tinejdad and Tinghir, crossing palm groves and earthen villages. We'll then ascend into the mountains to discover one of the natural wonders of the region: the Todra Gorges, a 300-meter-high gorge with a crystal-clear river carving through it.
We'll descend back into the valley and continue our route to Boumalne Dades, where we'll encounter another natural marvel: the Dadès Gorges. You'll spend the night in a local guesthouse with dinner and breakfast included.
After breakfast, we will set out to explore the stunning rock formations and hidden kasbahs in the Dadès Gorges. Returning to the Dadès Valley, we'll continue our journey, passing numerous earthen kasbahs and the Valley of Roses, where the famous Damask rose is cultivated and transformed into various products.
Leaving this valley, we'll pass through the ancient palm grove of Skoura, home to some impressive kasbahs, before reaching Ouarzazate, the capital of cinema, housing several film studios that have served as sets for many famous movies.
We'll then continue our route through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing Berber villages and farms dotting the hills and rivers that have shaped them over time. We'll traverse the Tizi n'Tichka Pass, at an altitude of 2260 meters, and descend the road to arrive in Marrakech in the evening.
